Can you tell I had way too much fun cutting together this highlight reel?

It was early pandemic days. The industry had ground to a standstill; no one's career was immune. I was quarantining in a room for 3 weeks with a giant drive containing Garret's life’s work and cut this between looking at the news and looking for a job, as a way to cope.

Losing myself in hours of footage, I was inspired to remix the song to support the edit. At one point, Garrett had to give me the feedback that it was starting to feel more like an editor's highlight reel than a dp's ;) – this was an excellent push back on my flourishes, which I scaled back dutifully. In hindsight, the project was a big hug to myself and a fellow creative during a rough time, and I treasure the experience.

In the end, I must have found the right balance, because I’m proud to say he’s still using this 6 years later.
